As children grow, their nutrition needs change. In addition, the amount of food children need to eat depends on the age, gender, and level of physical activity of the child. Besides eating the appropriate amount and types of food each day, children and teenagers should be physically active for at least 60 minutes every day, or on most days.
Select an age group to find out how many calories your child should eat daily, then select a food group to see the amount of foods your child needs from each food group. Equivalent amounts are shown for each food group.
