Snacks can be an important part of a healthy diet.
Some easy tips to remember are:
- When planning and preparing snacks, think of food group snacks, like yogurt, fresh fruit, veggie sticks, and string cheese
- Offer small sizes and let your child ask for more if he is still hungry
- Try to time snacks for 2 – 3 hours before mealtime
- Eat snacks at the table, not while watching TV
